A selection of trim levels will be available, culminating in a top-spec RS Line version. Taking inspiration from the Renault Megane RS, the Arkana RS Line gets a sportier design, big wheels and an exclusive Orange Valencia paint colour, shown here. An RS Line trim is also offered in the Renault Clio, which gives buyers more equipment and better materials than cheaper trim levels, too.
The dashboard looks to be carried over from the Clio and Captur, and high-spec cars will get an impressive 9.3-inch portrait touchscreen and a fully digital instrument cluster. Each specification will get an exclusive trim set – carbon-fibre effect for RS Line – but all get chrome touches and a leather gear selector for an upmarket feel. RS Line cars also get red stitching and leather/suede upholstery.
Combining a 1.6-litre petrol engine with two electric motors, the Arkana E-Tech produces 138bhp and is said to be capable of doing 80% of in-town journeys on electricity alone – as long as the battery is charged. There are Eco and Sport driving modes, and a My Sense mode that acts as a middle ground between the two.
Alongside the hybrid is a 1.3-litre petrol engine with the same power output, which is familiar from Renault’s range. It seems this engine will only be offered with an automatic gearbox, like it is on the Clio. Mild-hybrid assistance is fitted to reduce emissions, although Renault has not confirmed any performance or economy stats so far.
